Do you ever think about love? If I walk up to you and say, I love you, would you believe me? After the words are spoken, it’s left for my actions to do the rest. These past few days, I’ve been thinking so much about love. The kind of love that God expects of you and me; the kind that you can say truly this is love. If you tell someone you love them, what will your actions be saying?

There’s a certain picture I have in my mind for you, will you allow me share it? Imagine I encountered you and said to you, I love you. You’ll probably think there’s something wrong with me because I don’t know you. You’ll only believe the spoken profession of love if there are actions accompanying it. One day at a time, my actions begin to speak of the very love I profess. It’s evident in the way I treat you, the way I talk to you, the gifts I give.

Everything about my actions affirm the love I speak towards you. You see it in the consistency of my actions, in the little things and in the big demonstrations. Now you see my point clearly; I love you.

God’s actions of love

In like manner, God demonstrates His love to you and I; He’s already said I love you. Now His actions are saying I love you but do you see it? When Jesus had to die on the cross of Calvary, He said I love you. That is one of the biggest demonstrations of love ever. Will you take a moment to consider the little things? In the way He speaks to you, the way you can pour your heart out at any time and He listens.

In the way you appreciate nature, the things you consider mundane, He’s saying I love you. Do you know that God is that lover that goes all out for you? He wants you to have the whole package of love. Surely, you’ll begin to see it from God’s view.

You’re beginning to have a change of heart because you know what love is now. You want to show God in the same way that you love Him. The biggest decision in this love will be: Do you accept Jesus as your Friend, Lord, Saviour and so much more?

After the cross roads, you’re sure that you love God because you know Jesus. Now, you just need your actions to align with the love you feel and say. Did you evaluate your earlier actions before you said I love you? Somehow, you know those actions don’t portray your love for God.

This time, you want the actions to say boldly I love you God. At this phase, you don’t mind changing some things because it’s not in line with this new found love.

What’s your own part?

You’ve read this far, so I want to ask you “What are your actions saying?“. If you can, please be true to yourself. It’s okay if you find some things you don’t want because you can rectify it. At this season of your life, are your actions saying God, I love you completely? or are they saying God, You’re an option?

It’ll take some effort from you but it’s time you and I returned to our first love, God. Let your actions speak for itself, boldly declaring I love you God.
