Do you ever start to look for something in your house, then you aren’t sure what it was you were looking for again? I would like to compare that “search” to looking for God . Firstly, I’ll like to say a few things about God.

  1. God exists as a trinity: three persons in one (God the Father, Son and Holy spirit).
  2. Christians are followers of God the son: Jesus Christ.
  3. God’s love for us is unquantifiable : ‘ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ‘ John 3:16
  4. God wants to communicate with everyone individually because we all have a different purpose in his kingdom and he wants us to dwell with him in the afterlife.

During the “search”, you try to remember what exactly you are looking for whilst carefully checking everywhere you could possibly have put it . Looking for God can be likened to it; Sometimes you aren’t even sure what you are looking for because you’re not clear on what to search for.

I’m going to use myself as an example: I didn’t really know what I was going to find because everyone had a different version of what I should find because they all had different encounters of finding God. I grew up in the church, I went to schools that had religious backgrounds, I knew all about God’s ways, I would pray to God but I hadn’t really found him . All the teachings I had about God came in handy when it was time to find God.

Clarity is very important when looking for God, you need to know exactly what to look for so that you can really find him. In my situation, I found the God who wants to be the center of my life, who will speak to me,direct me and lead me in the right path, who wants to help me discover my full potential, who is waiting for me to call upon him so he can answer me, the God whose love for me is unfathomable.

Remember those things I specified about God at the start of this post, they come in handy at this point because you can only find God the father and God the holy spirit through God the son ,accessing the love and purpose also comes through God the son . If you’re wondering whether it’s worth it trying to find God, I want to say that it’s worth more than the time you’ll invest because the gain you get is priceless.

If you want to really find God , there’s one important thing you need to do: You need to accept Jesus Christ (God the son) into your life to dwell and lead you on this journey. When you do, it will be easy to gain access into God’s all-round blessings, his love and purpose for you.

In the next part, we’ll discuss “Are you ready to find God ?”. If you would like to get a notification immediately it’s published and so much more from me, kindly subscribe.
