Finding God: Are you ready?

Please note: God in this text refers to “God the son(Jesus Christ)” and “God the father” , use where applicable.

To find God, you must be willing to prepare yourself for him i.e pass the admission exam. The admission exam entails:

1. Acknowledging that you would like to have God in your life and
2. Accepting Jesus as your friend, master and Lord

Acknowledgement

In order to accept God into your life, you need to be willing to take a back seat and let God be the drive for your life. As humans, that’s hard for us, We like to be in control and follow our plans to the core but God is telling us today that we can trust him to deliver.

‘ But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. ‘ Matthew 6:33

Accepting Jesus

‘ “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is easy [to bear] and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Now that you’ve acknowledged that you need Jesus in your life, Accepting Jesus into your life is easy. Things to do when you would like to accept Jesus into your life:

You need to pray: For someone who has never said a word of prayer in their life that can be weird but you’ve got this. When you pray, Your words are as important as your state of heart. One prayer you need to know is : The Lord’s prayer

‘ After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. ‘ Matthew 6:9-13

Get a Bible : Now that you’ve accepted Jesus into your life, you need to be in constant contact with him. A Bible is your best bet to understand how God works, it can be gotten anywhere. When you get it,please pray on it before use. My favorite bible app is Youversion, I happily recommend it to you because it has changed my life in more ways than one.

Find a Bible believing church: God wants us to be in constant fellowship with our fellow brethren. Although, we need to be careful when choosing.

‘Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. ‘ Proverbs 27:17

‘And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. ‘ 2 Corinthians 11:14-15

End Note:

Finding God depends on the individual and their state of heart. If you’re willing, you will find God. The most important question is: Are you ready for this awesome wonder to come into your life and be the drive?
