We are nominees for the Barnabas award!!!!! Actually, God gave me the inspiration for the blog posts and you the readers gave me the zeal to continue writing even when it didn’t seem like it mattered.

Rules of The Barnabas Award

There are some rules which come with being nominated for this award. I will be listing them and following that order :

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and share their blog
  2. Nominate 5 bloggers who encourage and inspire you
  3. Tell us 5 things about yourself
  4. Ask the nominees 5 questions
  5. Answer the 5 questions Rubie asked

Did you notice the unique detail in the order ? There’s something really outstanding in this list, could you spot it? I’ll just help you out: It’s the number “5” and it signifies grace.

I will be adding a segment on this post that is not in the order listed, stay tuned!!

Thank the person who nominated you

Before we delve deeper into this award, I would like to thank Rubie of FOCHwoman who graciously nominated me for this award. On her blog, she shares articles about Godly living for women (men can definitely relate). Asides this, she also encourages us to be intentional about our walk with God by sharing her experiences. I love reading her articles and I am sure you would love them too.

Brief History because I want to share with you: I met Rubie some 5 years ago at a camp and I was totally blown away because she’s a blessing. Fast forward to this year, I reconnected with her and she has just been an epitome of God’s blessing.

Nominate 5 bloggers

Can you keep a secret?? It wasn’t until I was nominated for this award that I realised that I didn’t know any bloggers asides from myself, Rubie and like 2 other people. I was in distress for almost a month because as much as I wanted to participate in this award, I knew I needed to nominate other bloggers. Besides, I couldn’t re-nominate the bloggers Rubie nominated (sighs).

It took me 2 months to find a blogging community that I love and I hope you will love also.(It will be my honour if they decide to participate in this award.) And my nominees are :

  • Caughtinbetweenmom : You definitely want to read the articles on this blog because they are just beautiful. She shares life lessons which are always helpful.
  • Lizakuks.com : The articles on this blog are worth your time and if you are looking for some motivation or inspiration, these articles are God-sent.
  • inkblotsofhope.com : Sarah and Michael document how to deal with life in a Godly manner when you think it’s a mess. I have cried reading their articles and I just felt so encouraged to keep believing God.
  • thisillustriouslife.com : Bailey encourages her readers to embrace God’s calling for their lives and how to know what their calling is. She and other writers on her blog encourage young people to live a Godly life without letting the world get to them.
  • As much as I would have loved to nominate a 5th person, I didn’t have any blogger to nominate. If you know any bloggers whose articles are encouraging, please leave the links to their blogs in the comment section.

5 things about myself

  • Listening more than I speak is a strength for me (except you’re my close friend :))
  • I love smiling (Only you knows the blessings God has given you, so smile)
  • I remember things that people don’t think I ever noticed
  • God has blessed me with a unique sense of fashion ( I didn’t know how to utilise this gift until recently)
  • I love skills that involve using your hands like sewing, baking, cooking, writing

My 5 questions for the nominees

  1. Why did you make your blog name its’ current name?
  2. What is your opinion on liberal Christianity?
  3. If you could tell someone one unique thing about Jesus, what will it be?
  4. Do you think Christians are observant in line with the command to “watch and be vigilant“?
  5. What is the one thing God has taught you about himself?

The 5 questions Rubie asked me

  • What’s your take on Soul mates?

For the purpose of clarity, A soul mate is someone ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner. They understand you and know you better than anyone else. I always have this thought: No one will ever love me like God loves me. Nobody tolerates me like God does, no-one is rooting for me like God is. I’m not using this as a standard for anyone to attain.

I believe only God can give you the soul mate that fulfils these characteristics.

  • If you could have one conversation with one person in the bible apart from Jesus, who would it be and why?

I want to have a conversation with Job. Job had a lot on his plate at the time when everyone turned their backs on him. I really want to know how he coped when everyone he loved or trusted left him.

  • What was the main reason behind starting your blog?

I got an express call from God for his people that weren’t in his family yet. I wrote a blog post about why I started my blog, you can read it here.

  • What are you looking forward to right now in your life?

Growth! Also, Balancing my time with God and school. A lot has been happening and I know that God has been preparing me cause I can’t explain how I am better. I will make a blog post about it in the coming weeks, watch out!

  • What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?

Integrious (posessing integrity), Genuinely concerned and respectful

And the winner is….

I got your attention yeah? You are the winner of this award not me because when I felt like no one was reading, you were reading.

You have been chosen for this recognition because of the encouragement and inspiration you bring to your readers.

The Barnabas Award

You are a very important member of this blog and without you, it will not be the same. Thank you for always reading and sharing (if you have).

Keep reading and sharing because you are the blog, I am only the writer. Everything depends on the reader and I am grateful to have you here learning from God’s word and my experiences.

  1. Nice one, learned a lot.
Thank you so much especially for the blog nominations. I went through them and it’s good to have people to look up to in this walk of faith, it is a reminder that it is doable and serves as encouragement when it seems overwhelming.
Keep up the good work on your path and God will use you to reach more people.
