Have you ever been around little babies? The way they grow is interesting. How they look today is quite different from the way they’ll look tomorrow. For them to grow physically, they need to eat food, lots of it. That’s exactly the same way you & I need to feed on the word of God to grow spiritually.
When you start out as a baby Christian, you operate within the bounds of knowledge you have. However, as you sit with the word of God daily, it provides you with new knowledge on the life of Christ in you; which eventually shapes you .
Highlighting Jesus’ words in John 15:3-5:
The words I have spoken over you have already cleansed you. So you must remain in life-union with me, for I remain in life-union with you. For as a branch severed from the vine will not bear fruit, so your life will be fruitless unless you live your life intimately joined to mine. “I am the sprouting vine, and you’re my branches. As you live in union with me as your source, fruitfulness will stream from within you—but when you live separated from me, you are powerless.

In saying all of this, what would I like you to take away? For you to grow spiritually, you must sit with the word of God daily. Even if you read one verse a day, ponder on it and let it have its complete work in you.
