Sometime earlier in September or maybe October, Rubie of fochwoman asked on Instagram what we want to show gratitude for and I remember replying with “Growth”.

I had just learnt a lesson in the school of life from Facebook. Through Facebook, someone contacted me and I didn’t expect to react so calmly and nicely. I am still shocked at the encounter but I am very grateful for the experience.

Up until that time, I didn’t notice I was growing because I couldn’t see any results. Well, my result did come in an unexpected manner.

The simplicity in gratitude

It’s easy to say thank you and not mean it and it’s easier to see things as your entitlement. The gift of life is one some people will pray for and never get, while someone else will pray for clean water and not get it.

Being thankful shouldn’t be for only when you want more, it should be for every time you wake up and can do every thing you did yesterday and more.

Simply put, Gratitude is being able to recognise that you can sleep, eat, drink , walk and so much more while someone else may never do these things.

Everyday is a miracle for which I am grateful for. God truly knows all the times I am in tears for the things I have I know people are praying for.

Today not Tomorrow

In 1 Corinthians 3:6, Apostle Paul shows the different stages in growth:

Growth stages: plant. water and increase

Planting, Watering and Increase are the three stages in growth. You and I also go through these stages of growth. Whatever you plant in your life takes times to grow even your money in the bank.

Nothing ever grows overnight, it’s all a process of different seasons with different lessons. Don’t neglect the lesson of today for speedy growth.

Remember, there was a time you prayed for this stage you are currently at. Enjoy it while it lasts because you may never re-do a stage in your life.

Striving for the crown

No one ever grows for fun, they grow with a purpose or vision in mind. As Christians, you and I need to grow with this verse at the forefront of everything we do:

Run in a way that you will obtain the crown, 1 Corinthians 9:24

As we strive for the crown, I pray for God’s grace for you and I to be grateful at the different stages of growth. Even when there are no results, I pray that God will help us to show gratitude and notice the little changes that occur in us.

  1. Itā€™s so true ā€œRemember, there was a time you prayed for this stage you are currently at. Enjoy it while it lasts because you may never re-do a stage in your lifeā€ Iā€™ve just been feeling like I donā€™t particularly want to be where I am now, also known as school, lol, forgetting that I prayed to come to school and I have so much to be thankful for. There is a part of the bible that talks about human life being vapor, living is Godā€™s grace and it only makes sense to be grateful while weā€™re here

    1. That’s so true, as hard as it may get, try to remember that you once prayed for it and God has brought you here now. I pray that God will help us all to be thankful. Thanks Seyi !!
