Hi everyone, how are we? This girl stepped away from writing for a bit and I’ve been trying to find the way back in, lol. Certainly, I owe you all an apology for disappearing on you; I’m sorry! Since the last article, I’ve been reading and I’ll share one insight I received in the last month within today’s article.

It all starts in 2 Corinthians 4, where Apostle Paul shared an interesting thought pattern that I’ve been ruminating on. Let’s explore 2 Corinthians 4:3-6 ERV together:

[3] The Good News that we tell people may be hidden, but it is hidden only to those who are lost. [4] The ruler of this world has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They cannot see the light of the Good News—the message about the divine greatness of Christ. Christ is the one who is exactly like God.

[5] We don’t tell people about ourselves. But we tell people that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we tell them that we are your servants for Jesus.

[6] God once said, “Let light shine out of the darkness!” And this is the same God who made his light shine in our hearts to let us know that his own divine greatness is seen in the face of Christ.

He explains how the Gospel is hidden; not because there’s no light, but because it can’t be seen. Afterwards, referring to Genesis 1, where God says, “Let there be light.”, He concurs that this light is the Gospel of Christ, and I find that intriguing.

Creation & Light – Genesis 1

Shall we look at the circumstances in Genesis 1? Genesis 1:1-3 ERV

[1] In the beginning, when God created the earth and sky, [2] the earth was without life and not yet useful for anything. Deep waters covered the earth, and darkness covered the water. God’s Spirit was moving like a storm over the surface of the water. [3] Then God said, “Let there be light!” And light began to shine.

In creation, God made order by providing light in the midst of darkness. Apostle Paul calls that the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Consequently, when we read Genesis 3, where Adam and Eve ate the fruit by deception, technically, they rejected the light/Gospel God provides.

Amazingly, He explains further for us in 2 Corinthians 11:2-3 ERV:

[2] I am jealous for you with a jealousy that comes from God. I promised to give you to Christ. He must be your only husband. I want to give you to Christ to be his pure bride. [3] But I am afraid that your minds will be led away from your true and pure following of Christ. This could happen just as Eve was tricked by that snake with his clever lies.

After thinking on it for a while, I remembered Ephesians 1:4 ERV says that: In Christ, he chose us before the world was made. He chose us in love to be his holy people—people who could stand before him without any fault.

God provided light even before darkness existed. In providing the light of Christ, God already specified how to be right with Him. Christ wasn’t the afterthought solution to Adam and Eve’s fall. Instead, Adam and Eve’s fall is their response to rejecting Jesus/Light/God.

It may be a lot to wrap one’s head around, but let’s meditate on this.

That’s it for today’s article. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section.
